
Associate Advisor
Mrs Rejieli Cokanasiga‑Taylor is a seasoned Urban and Regional Planning specialist with over three decades of leadership across Fiji and the wider Pacific. Her career spans senior government appointments, international development partnerships, and executive roles in non‑profit organisations, including Program Manager for UNESCAP’s SDG localisation initiative and Executive Director of Women’s Fund Fiji. She has held pivotal positions at the iTaukei Land Trust Board, where she spearheaded digital land transformation projects such as the Blockchain Land Registry and Smart Systems for native land management, and at the Department of Town and Country Planning, where she led national urban growth management plans and climate resilience strategies.
Her expertise integrates strategic planning, governance, risk management, and innovation with deep technical knowledge in spatial planning, environmental impact assessments, and sustainable development. Rejieli has successfully managed multi‑stakeholder partnerships with ADB, World Bank, UN agencies, and bilateral governments, delivering landmark projects in urbanisation, biodiversity conservation, and smart city development. Mrs Taylor has a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning degree from the University of New England, Australia. She is a professional member of the Planning Institute of Australia, Urban Land Institute Asia, and the Fiji Planners Institute, and serves as an expert member of the Commonwealth Sustainable Cities Coalition.
Mrs Taylor’s collaboration with Maxumise, highlights her versatility in both strategic planning and design innovation. As an Associate Consultant, she has contributed to organisational strategy workshops, particularly for iTaukei communities, helping to develop Yasana, Tikina, Koro, and Mataqali Strategic & Business Plans. This work reflects her ability to integrate cultural values with modern governance and business frameworks, ensuring that community‑based planning aligns with broader development goals.
