Associate Advisor
Dr Nacanieli Rika is an Associate Advisor at Maxumise, bringing extensive expertise in accounting standards, strategic finance and sustainability reporting. He holds a PhD in Accounting from the Australian National University, an MBA and Master of Commerce, and a BA in Accounting and Economics from the University of the South Pacific, and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia).
Dr Rika has delivered high-impact training on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for members of the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA), translating complex requirements into practical guidance for finance professionals, senior leaders and regulators. As a member of the FICA Standards Committee, he supports the domestic adoption of International Sustainability Standards, including S1 (sustainability-related risks) and S2 (climate-related risks). He also facilitated modules on risk management and resilience (including climate change), governance and financial management for the Fiji Senior Executive Women Leadership programme, developed under the ADB Private Sector initiative. At Maxumise, Dr Rika provides clients with rigorous financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and strategic planning support, helping executive teams align financial performance with wider organisational objectives. He has advised prominent organisations including Fiji Pine Ltd, Fiji Airports Ltd, i-Taukei Trust Fund Board and Yatu Lau Company Ltd, applying tailored financial modelling and benchmarking to strengthen decision-making, accountability and sustainable growth.
